A native of Sweden, violist Jenny Välitalo completed her undergraudate degree at Royal College of Music/ Edsbergs Musikintitut at the Edsberg castle in Stockholm, earning an artist diploma in chamber music performance. Jenny was awarded a Fulbright grant for graduate studies at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she completed a Master's Degree in Viola Performance studying with Professor Carol Rodland and conductor Benjamin Zander. A special interest in early music has led to studies in baroque viola and violin, as well as performances with period instrument music ensembles in Europe and the United States. Jenny has performed as a soloist, chamber and orchestra musician on five continents, and regularly teaches masterclasses in viola, chamber music and baroque ensemble. She is pursuing a Doctorate degree at the Eastman School of Music.
